🇳🇿 New Zealand Social Care & Community Services Knowledge Hub

New Zealand's aged care, disability support and community services continue to evolve as government, providers, communities, Māori and Pacific organisations respond to an ageing population, changing expectations around choice and independence, workforce pressures, digital transformation and the need for equitable, culturally responsive support. The first collection within this Knowledge Hub explores New Zealand Aged Care & Home Support, with additional specialist collections being introduced as the library expands. Many of the challenges facing New Zealand are also shared internationally: supporting people to remain at home, strengthening workforce sustainability, improving quality and safeguarding, integrating health and community services and developing sustainable models of long-term support.

This Knowledge Hub has been created to explore New Zealand approaches to aged care, disability services, home and community support, workforce development, quality improvement, culturally responsive care, digital innovation and system transformation. It forms part of the wider international knowledge library within Impact Guru, providing practical insight for providers, commissioners, government teams, researchers, policymakers and system leaders interested in strengthening social care and community services across New Zealand.

As this section develops, articles will examine ageing in place, home and community support, aged residential care, disability support and Enabling Good Lives, Māori and Pacific perspectives, workforce sustainability, quality and regulation, safeguarding, integrated care, housing, technology, commissioning and emerging models of support. The aim is to build a practical, evidence-informed resource that supports continuous improvement while recognising New Zealand's distinctive cultural, demographic and service context.

Although this Knowledge Hub is currently in its early stages, it has been designed to expand progressively into a substantial dedicated New Zealand social care and community services knowledge library, with new content added across multiple specialist subject areas over time.
