Terms of Service, Policies and Commercial Terms

Impact Guru is committed to maintaining a professional, transparent and evidence-led Knowledge Hub for providers, commissioners, NHS teams, governance leads, operational decision-makers and organisations working across adult social care and community health.

This page explains the principal terms, editorial standards and commercial arrangements governing use of the Impact Guru website, Knowledge Hubs, Intelligence Resources, sponsorship opportunities, commissioned content and connected purchasing arrangements.

Impact Guru is operated by Impact Guru Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales.

Selected sponsorships and commissioned products relating to Impact Insights USA are also purchased through the Impact Guru online store. Where applicable, the relevant product identifies the platform, Knowledge Hub, category, country or Intelligence Resource to which the purchase relates.

By using this website, purchasing an applicable product, commissioning content or participating in a sponsorship arrangement, you agree to the terms and arrangements applicable to that activity.

Website Use

Impact Guru provides professional information, analysis, guidance, tools and resources relating to adult social care, community health, commissioning, governance, quality, workforce, safeguarding, service development, technology, long-term care and related professional subjects.

Content is provided for general professional information and educational purposes. It does not constitute legal, financial, medical or other regulated professional advice and should not replace appropriate professional judgement, organisation-specific assessment or specialist advice where this is required.

Users remain responsible for determining whether information is appropriate to their particular circumstances and for complying with applicable legislation, regulation, contractual requirements, professional standards and organisational policies.

Impact Guru may update, amend, reorganise or remove website content where appropriate as the Knowledge Hub develops.

Intellectual Property and Permitted Use

Unless otherwise stated, original content published on Impact Guru, including articles, Knowledge Hub structures, Intelligence Resources, tools, frameworks, written guidance and other original materials, is owned by or licensed to Impact Guru Ltd and is protected by applicable intellectual property law.

Users may access and use publicly available content for legitimate personal and professional reference purposes.

Content must not be systematically copied, republished, reproduced, scraped, redistributed, commercially exploited or presented as another organisation's original work without appropriate permission or another lawful basis.

References, quotations and limited extracts may be used where permitted by law and appropriately attributed.

Editorial Independence

Impact Guru maintains editorial independence across its Knowledge Hubs, articles, Intelligence Resources and other professional content.

Content is developed with the objective of providing useful, evidence-led professional analysis and practical guidance. Sources, evidence and external material may be considered where relevant, while editorial judgement remains with Impact Guru.

Sponsorship and commissioned-content payments do not purchase editorial control or endorsement.

Sponsors cannot determine article conclusions, evidence selection, Intelligence Resource outputs, recommendations, rankings or the wider editorial direction of Impact Guru.

Impact Guru may correct, update or substantially revise content where evidence, professional practice, legislation, regulation or other relevant circumstances change.

Knowledge Hub Sponsorship

Impact Guru offers sponsorship opportunities across its professional Knowledge Hub and Intelligence Resource ecosystem.

These may include:

  • Knowledge Hub Category Sponsorship
  • International Knowledge Hubs Sponsorship
  • Country Knowledge Hub Sponsorship
  • Intelligence Hub Sponsorship
  • Individual Intelligence Resource Sponsorship

Many sponsorship positions are exclusive and capacity-limited. Where a sponsorship product is described as exclusive, only one approved sponsoring organisation will occupy that specific sponsorship position while the applicable sponsorship remains active.

Exclusivity relates to the defined sponsorship position. It does not provide exclusivity over the underlying professional subject, prevent Impact Guru from referring to other organisations, products or approaches where editorially relevant, or provide influence over independent editorial content.

The same organisation may purchase more than one available sponsorship position where there is an appropriate professional fit.

Sponsor Suitability

All sponsorships remain subject to professional relevance, suitability and availability.

Impact Guru Ltd may decline, suspend or end a sponsorship where there are reasonable concerns regarding professional relevance, credibility, misleading or unverifiable claims, inappropriate products or services, conflicts with editorial independence, material breach of the applicable terms or wider professional or reputational suitability.

The ability to purchase a sponsorship online does not remove this suitability requirement.

If a sponsorship is declined following purchase and has not been activated, the applicable payment will be refunded.

Where an active sponsorship is ended because of a material breach by the sponsor, a refund will not normally be provided, subject always to any mandatory legal rights that apply.

Sponsor Recognition and Materials

The recognition provided to a sponsor is described within the applicable sponsorship product information and may include an organisation name, logo, strapline and approved outbound link.

Sponsors are responsible for ensuring that materials supplied to Impact Guru are accurate, lawful and appropriate and that they have the necessary rights and permissions to provide logos, trademarks, wording and other materials for publication.

Impact Guru may request reasonable amendments where sponsor materials are misleading, unsuitable, technically inappropriate or inconsistent with the professional presentation of the platform.

Sponsor recognition does not constitute endorsement of the sponsor, its products, services or claims by Impact Guru or Impact Insights.

Sponsorship Subscriptions

Applicable Impact Guru and Impact Insights sponsorship products are offered as recurring monthly or annual subscriptions.

Monthly sponsorship renews each month until cancelled. Cancellation before the next scheduled renewal prevents the next monthly payment. The sponsorship will normally remain active until the end of the monthly sponsorship period already paid for.

Annual sponsorship is paid in advance and, where stated on the applicable product, provides 12 months of sponsorship for the equivalent cost of 10 monthly payments. Cancellation before the next scheduled annual renewal prevents the following annual payment while the existing paid sponsorship will normally continue until the end of its annual term.

Payments already collected for an active sponsorship period are not normally refundable simply because the sponsor subsequently chooses to cancel or withdraw before the end of that paid period.

No pro-rated refund will normally be provided for unused time within a paid sponsorship period following voluntary cancellation.

Paused Sponsorship Subscriptions

Where the subscription system provides the ability to pause a sponsorship subscription, pausing does not reserve or protect an exclusive sponsorship position.

Impact Guru may suspend or remove the relevant sponsorship placement while payments are paused and may make the position available to another suitable organisation.

If another organisation secures the position while a subscription is paused, the previous sponsor does not have an automatic right to reclaim it.

Resumption therefore remains subject to the original sponsorship position still being available and the sponsor continuing to meet applicable suitability requirements.

Commissioned Knowledge Hub Articles

Impact Guru may accept commissions for professional Knowledge Hub content where the proposed subject is relevant to the platform and consistent with its editorial purpose.

Commissioning an article funds research, planning, writing, editorial development and publication. It does not purchase a predetermined conclusion, favourable coverage or editorial endorsement.

Impact Guru retains editorial control over commissioned content and may decline proposed claims, links, wording or subject matter that would compromise accuracy, professional standards or editorial independence.

Commissioned articles may be purchased for publication on Impact Guru UK or Impact Insights USA where the applicable product option is available.

Commissioned Article Production and Cancellation

Commissioned Knowledge Hub Articles are bespoke professional content requiring individually allocated research, planning, writing and editorial capacity.

Payments therefore become non-refundable once substantive work on the commissioned content has commenced.

If cancellation is requested before substantive work has commenced, any refund will be considered according to the circumstances of the order and any preparation already undertaken.

If a proposed commission is declined before substantive work begins and an acceptable alternative subject cannot be agreed, payment received for the unproduced commission will be refunded.

Once commissioned content has been substantially produced or delivered, a refund will not normally be available because the commissioning organisation subsequently decides not to proceed with publication.

Commissioned Article Packages

Where a multi-article package is purchased, completed, substantially produced or published articles are non-refundable.

If cancellation is requested before remaining articles have entered substantive production, any appropriate refund relating to genuinely uncommenced work will be considered according to the circumstances of the order.

Any discounted or package pricing associated with the original purchase may be taken into account when determining an amount properly refundable for uncommenced work.

External and Commissioned Links

Impact Guru content may contain links to external organisations, evidence sources, public bodies, professional resources, sponsors or other websites where these provide appropriate context or value to users.

The presence of an external link does not automatically constitute endorsement of the external organisation, website, product, service or content.

Where commissioned content includes an appropriate contextual link to a commissioning organisation, Impact Guru retains discretion over its wording, placement and continuing suitability.

Impact Guru is not responsible for the availability, security, accuracy or subsequent content of third-party websites.

Intelligence Resources and Digital Content

Impact Guru may provide interactive Intelligence Resources, downloadable materials, templates, frameworks and other digital content.

These resources are intended to support professional thinking, assessment, planning and improvement. Outputs should be interpreted in context and should not be treated as a substitute for professional judgement, formal regulatory interpretation or organisation-specific advice.

Where paid digital content is supplied or made immediately accessible, refunds will generally not be available once the content has been supplied, accessed or downloaded, subject to any mandatory rights applying under applicable law.

Product-Specific Information

Individual product pages may contain additional commercial information specific to a sponsorship, subscription, commissioned-content package or other commercial product.

This may include:

  • the selected platform or sponsorship position
  • scope of exclusivity
  • subscription frequency
  • annual-payment arrangements
  • availability
  • fulfilment requirements
  • sponsor logo, strapline and link requirements
  • commissioned-content scope

Customers should review the applicable product information before completing a purchase.

Impact Guru and Impact Insights Purchasing

Impact Guru and Impact Insights operate as connected professional knowledge platforms of Impact Guru Ltd.

Impact Guru provides the central online purchasing and subscription environment for selected commercial opportunities across both platforms.

Where an Impact Insights USA product is purchased through the Impact Guru UK Shopify store, the commercial transaction, payment and subscription administration are handled through Impact Guru Ltd while the selected sponsorship, publication or digital resource is delivered on Impact Insights USA.

The use of shared purchasing infrastructure does not change the editorial identity, professional purpose or editorial independence of either platform.

Payments, Refunds and Billing Errors

Prices, payment frequency and any applicable subscription arrangements are displayed as part of the relevant product and checkout process.

If a payment has been duplicated, taken incorrectly or otherwise processed in error, please contact Impact Guru as soon as possible so that the transaction can be investigated.

Where a refund is properly due, it will normally be returned using the original payment method wherever possible.

The time taken for an approved refund to appear may depend upon Shopify, the payment provider, bank or card issuer and may therefore be outside the direct control of Impact Guru Ltd.

Availability and Changes to Commercial Products

Impact Guru may introduce, amend, withdraw or change commercial products, sponsorship opportunities, prices and availability from time to time.

Changes to future pricing do not retrospectively alter a sponsorship period or other purchase that has already been paid for, except where expressly agreed or otherwise required.

Exclusive sponsorship positions may become unavailable when secured by another approved organisation and may become available again following cancellation, expiry or other termination of the previous sponsorship.

Privacy and Personal Information

Impact Guru Ltd may collect and process personal information necessary to operate the website, respond to enquiries, administer purchases, manage recurring subscriptions, deliver commissioned content, fulfil sponsorship arrangements and provide professional services.

Information may include contact details, customer and order information, communications, sponsorship materials and information required to administer commercial relationships.

Payment information is processed through the applicable ecommerce and payment infrastructure and Impact Guru does not independently retain complete payment-card details where these are processed by the relevant payment provider.

Personal information is handled in accordance with applicable data-protection requirements and is not sold by Impact Guru Ltd.

Limitation and Professional Responsibility

Impact Guru takes reasonable care in developing and maintaining its professional content but does not guarantee that every item of information will remain complete, current or appropriate to every organisation or circumstance.

Users should verify information where decisions carry significant legal, regulatory, clinical, financial, safeguarding or operational consequences.

To the extent permitted by law, Impact Guru Ltd is not responsible for losses arising solely from reliance upon general website information where appropriate professional judgement, verification or specialist advice should reasonably have been obtained.

Nothing on this page excludes or limits liability or legal rights where doing so would be unlawful.

Governing Law

Impact Guru is operated by Impact Guru Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales.

Unless mandatory law requires otherwise or a separate written agreement expressly provides differently, use of the Impact Guru website and commercial arrangements with Impact Guru Ltd are governed by the laws of England and Wales and subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

Nothing in these terms removes mandatory statutory protections that apply to a particular customer or transaction and cannot lawfully be excluded.

Separate Professional Services

Where Impact Guru Ltd enters into a separate written consultancy, bid-writing, project-management or other professional-services agreement with a client, that agreement governs the relevant engagement to the extent specified within it.

The general website and ecommerce provisions on this page do not replace separately agreed contractual terms for those professional services.

Updates to These Terms

Impact Guru may update these terms, policies and commercial arrangements from time to time to reflect changes in legislation, regulation, products, subscription arrangements, ecommerce infrastructure, editorial practice or the development of the platform.

The current version will be published on this page with the applicable last-updated date.
