August 2026 audience and referral figures reflect the reporting period captured at the beginning of September. Google Search clicks are the 28-day totals shown by Google Search Console at the reporting date. GA4 Organic Search and AI Assistant figures shown above are new-user acquisition measures. Google, Bing and Yahoo figures in the Search & AI Traffic Detail tables are session-level organic-search measures. Return-user growth percentages compare the reporting period with the preceding comparison period displayed in GA4. Future monthly updates will use completed previous calendar-month reporting periods wherever the relevant analytics platform allows.
Understanding the Statistics
Published content pages provide an approximate measure of the scale of the open-access content available across each platform. Content totals change regularly as new articles and resources are published.
Google indexed pages are pages currently reported as indexed through Google Search Console. Indexing figures naturally fluctuate as Google discovers, crawls, evaluates and reprocesses content across the sites.
UK Active Users and USA Active Users are active users attributed by Google Analytics 4 to the principal home market of each platform — the United Kingdom for Impact Guru and the United States for Impact Insights. Google Analytics 4 defines an active user as a unique user who has an engaged session or for whom Analytics collects specified engagement signals, such as a first visit or recorded engagement time. An engaged session is one that lasts more than 10 seconds, includes a key event or records at least two page or screen views. These figures are therefore presented specifically as active-user measures rather than general visitor totals. This provides a clearer indication of the core home-market audience than unfiltered global traffic where automated, crawler or other non-human activity may materially affect headline totals.
Return Users is the shortened table label used on this page for the Google Analytics 4 Returning users metric. Google defines a returning user as a unique user who initiated at least one previous session, regardless of whether that previous session was an engaged session. The percentage shown for August 2026 represents the change against the preceding comparison period displayed in GA4. Return Users are reported separately from UK Active Users and USA Active Users and should not be added to them to create a combined audience total.
Google Clicks are clicks from Google Search results to the respective platform as reported directly through Google Search Console. The August 2026 baseline uses the 28-day Search Console reporting period captured on 1 September 2026. These figures are distinct from Google organic sessions recorded by Google Analytics 4 because the two systems measure different stages of the search and website journey.
Organic Search Users is the shortened table label used for new users attributed by Google Analytics 4 to the Organic Search first-user primary channel group. This provides a broader acquisition measure across organic search sources and is therefore different from both Google Search Console click totals and individual search-engine session counts.
AI Assist Users is the shortened table label used for new users attributed by Google Analytics 4 to the AI Assistant first-user primary channel group. This provides a broader measure of identifiable AI-assisted user acquisition and may include traffic beyond any one named AI service.
Google, Bing and Yahoo organic sessions show sessions attributed by Google Analytics 4 to organic search through the respective search engines during the relevant reporting period. These figures provide a more detailed view of how conventional search engines contribute to website discovery but should not be confused with either new-user acquisition measures or Google Search Console click totals.
Microsoft Copilot referrals combine sessions attributed by Google Analytics 4 to identified Copilot referral classifications, including traffic recorded as copilot.com / ai-assistant and copilot.com / (not set). These are session-level referral measures and are therefore not expected to match the AI Assist Users figure. AI referral measurement remains an emerging area and attribution can change as platforms and analytics systems evolve.
Cross-platform home-market audience shows U.S. Active Users visiting Impact Guru UK and UK Active Users visiting Impact Insights USA. These figures provide an indication of cross-border readership between the two connected platforms and are reported separately rather than being added to the principal home-market active-user figures.
Publishing activity distinguishes between new articles and substantial updates to existing content. Impact Guru and Impact Insights now operate a more selective publishing model, typically adding around 30 substantial new articles per platform each month. Alongside new publishing, existing articles are reviewed and strengthened in response to Google Search Console evidence, including demonstrated search clicks and emerging areas of user interest. The number of existing articles updated therefore varies according to the evidence rather than following a fixed monthly production target.
About the Data
The figures on this page are intended to provide a transparent monthly record rather than live analytics. Statistics are rounded where appropriate and are updated after the completion of each reporting month.
Google Search Console is used for Google indexing and Google Search click information, while Google Analytics 4 is used for active-user, return-user, new-user acquisition, organic-session and referral measures.
Different analytics measures should not be added together to produce a single audience total. Search Console clicks, GA4 active users, return users, new users, sessions and referrals measure different aspects of discovery and website use and are presented separately for transparency.
Headline traffic figures that cannot be reliably distinguished from automated, crawler or other non-human activity are not used on this page. This is particularly important where unusual global traffic patterns can materially distort aggregate analytics. The emphasis is instead on measures that provide a clearer and more useful indication of platform scale, home-market active users, returning readership, search discovery and identifiable referral activity.
Search, audience and referral figures should also be interpreted as directional indicators rather than guarantees of future traffic, enquiries, leads or commercial outcomes.
Search, AI Discovery & Returning Readership
Impact Guru and Impact Insights are increasingly discovered through a mixture of conventional search engines and AI-assisted discovery routes, while return-user data provides an additional indication that part of the audience is revisiting the platforms over time.
The monthly record captures Google Search clicks reported directly through Search Console, broader Organic Search new-user acquisition through Google Analytics 4, individual Google, Bing and Yahoo organic sessions, AI Assistant new-user acquisition, identifiable referral traffic from Microsoft Copilot and return-user activity.
These measures intentionally remain separate because they describe different parts of the discovery and readership journey. Together they provide a broader evidence base for understanding how people are finding, using and returning to the platforms through conventional search and emerging AI-assisted routes.
As additional identifiable search engines or AI referral sources emerge at meaningful levels, these can also be incorporated into future monthly reporting where the underlying analytics provide sufficiently reliable attribution.
Search visibility continues to develop as new flagship articles are published, established Knowledge Hubs and international Country Knowledge Hubs mature in search, and existing content is strengthened in response to demonstrated user interest and Search Console evidence.
An International Knowledge Ecosystem
Impact Guru UK and Impact Insights USA are connected but distinct professional knowledge platforms. Alongside their core UK and U.S. subject coverage, the ecosystem includes an extensive international network of dedicated Country Knowledge Hubs examining ageing, long-term care, community support, prevention, integrated care and wider system development across different countries.
Following the completion of the initial international expansion programme, future development of the country-specific portfolio will be increasingly evidence-led. Search visibility, readership patterns and emerging professional interest will help identify where individual countries or subjects warrant further depth rather than geographic expansion continuing for its own sake.
The monthly audience record also captures cross-platform readership, including U.S. Active Users accessing Impact Guru UK and UK Active Users accessing Impact Insights USA. This sits alongside wider international search discovery across the country-specific knowledge portfolio.
International development now sits alongside a more focused programme of substantial UK and U.S. pillar articles and the ongoing strengthening of existing content in response to demonstrated search interest.
Commercial Transparency
These statistics are published so that organisations considering sponsorship, commissioned content or collaboration can assess the scale and development of the platforms using clearly identified measures rather than unsupported audience or reach claims.
By retaining previous monthly figures rather than simply replacing them, Impact Guru and Impact Insights aim to provide a transparent record of how the platforms’ Google search visibility, wider organic search discovery, AI-assisted discovery, returning readership, content libraries and professional audiences develop over time.
