🇦🇺 Australia Social Care & Community Services Knowledge Hub
Australia's aged care, disability support and community services continue to evolve as governments, providers and communities respond to an ageing population, increasing complexity of need, workforce pressures, digital transformation and growing expectations around safe, person-centred and integrated support. The first collection within this Knowledge Hub explores Australia Aged Care & Home Support, with additional specialist collections being introduced as the library expands. Although service systems, funding arrangements and regulatory responsibilities differ across states, territories and national programmes, many of the challenges are shared internationally: improving quality, supporting workforce sustainability, strengthening safeguarding, reducing avoidable hospital admissions, expanding community-based support and using data more effectively to improve outcomes.
This Knowledge Hub has been created to explore Australian approaches to aged care, disability services, community support, mental health, digital innovation, quality improvement and system transformation. It forms part of the wider international knowledge library within Impact Guru, providing practical insight for providers, commissioners, government teams, researchers, policymakers and system leaders interested in strengthening social care and community services across Australia.
As this section develops, articles will examine residential aged care, home support, community-based care, the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), workforce innovation, digital transformation, quality assurance, safeguarding, commissioning and funding approaches, outcomes measurement, provider governance and emerging models of support. The aim is to build a practical, evidence-informed resource that supports continuous improvement while recognising the diversity of Australia's national, state and territory service systems.
Although this Knowledge Hub is currently in its early stages, it has been designed to expand progressively into one of the largest dedicated Australian social care and community services knowledge libraries available, with new content added across multiple specialist subject areas over time.
